CD & DVD
Vending Machines -
Simple Conversion
Tips 1 'Placement'
1. Before you purchase your
CD & DVD Vending Machines,
you will want to target a few high traffic areas that have lots of foot
traffic. The more people that visit a facility, the better.
There are 2 target markets:
Remember... Everybody is a potential customer.
2. Never assume that you can place your
CD & DVD Vending Machine at your choice
facility.
3. Always approach the owner of the facility or
general manager when asking to place your machines. Most places have a
vendors form to fill out.
4. The standard pay-out to the host facility is 10%
to 15%. If you are feeling generous you can always offer 20% to 35%. This
always puts you in good with most places and will almost guarantee a prime
location over other regular machine operators. However, some stores never
even mention a commission. Rule of thumb: don't bring it up until
they bring it up!
5. Never... I cannot stress this enough... NEVER
try to short change your host facility. This is just bad business. If you
agree on a percentage of the the profits [Net or Gross], stick to it. An
honest vendor ranks very highly with most facilities. Also, you better
believe that they're keeping track of their portion of the profits.
6. Always keep a detailed log of each machine that
you fill
7. When you get a contract with a facility, be sure
to get an exclusive right to sale. You don't want anybody trying to dip into
your KOOL-AID profits. [Meaning: You don't want any on-site competition!]
When other vendors see the product you are moving, they will try to move
into your territory.
8. This is a crucial step.
Once you get your first machines placed, start working on securing other
heavy trafficked locations. As we mentioned in #7, once other vendors see
how much product you are moving, the availability of prime locations will
start to disappear very rapidly. The more locations you obtain, the more
secure your income will be.
9.
Never assume that
because a location already has vending
machines on location, you won't be able to locate yours. Especially
notice if the current machines have been "out of order" or near empty longer
than a month. The business owner may readily accept yours alongside the
other or better yet... give them the boot. This is always a great
opportunity to place several machines.
10. Don't slack...
Service you machines. Keep your CD & DVD
Vending Machines full, organized, well maintained and operational.
